The main research question to be answered by this project is a comprehensive survey on aquatic biodiversity at Samothraki Island, through a macroecological perspective. Specifically, this research focus on patterns of aquatic macroinvertebrates in Samothraki’s streams and their response to disturbances, combining community and population approaches. The results of this project could be used to promote nature conservation initiatives.
So far, macroinvertebrates were collected and identified from 68 sampling sites (streams, springs and wetlands).
